Welcome to RAMH, we are an independent organisation which aims to enable people to

recover from mental ill health and to promote wellbeing.

May 2008 marked our 30th anniversary and we have been providing a platform for discussion and delivering a range of services across Renfrewshire & East Renfrewshire in that time.

The Lifeskills project is moving forward with a van and a large store. Staff are being recruited to provide an assistant and administration support.  Training will be given to new satff and then they will be ready to accept referrals. Call 0141 237 0026 Jim Neill.

Mental Health Joint Carers Group with Carers Centre and Community Development Team.

1st Tuesday of every month at 7pm till 830pm at the Charleston Centre, Paisley.

1. 4th May 2010 - Valerie Reily from Glasgow museums.

2. 8th June - Carers consultation with Angela Moran CMHT Joint Manager.

3. 6th July - Group Discussion: "How do you cope with the stress of caring?".

4. 3rd August - Angela Moran, Carers group input and Janis Byrne, RAMH housing.

5. 7th September - Welfare Rights: benefit surgery.

6. 5th October - Andrew Walker, Pharmacy Manager Q&A on Psychiatric medication.

7. 2nd November - Q&A with CMHT Psychiatrist (tbc).

8. 7th December - Carers Christmas Shindig.

Towards a Mentally

Flourishing Scotland.

  

This document is the vision for mental health

improvement for the period 2009 - 2011 and beyond.

   

Key elements discussed include: protecting

your own mental health, recognizing factors

that lead to mental illness and spotting mental health problems in others.

The benefits of good mental health are

highlighted including: healthier lifestyles, better physical health, better relationships and

greater productivity in the workplace, including: healthier lifestyles, better physical health,

better relationships and greater productivity

in the workplace.

  

Plans include:

  

  • National marketing campaigns.

  

  • Training for health and social workers           for mental health.

  

  • A focus on lifestyle approaches to help         for people achieve good mental health (smoking cessation, physical activity,          and healthy eating).

  

  • Promotion of wellbeing in the                    work place.

  

  • Research to establish more               understanding of key factors that               lead to suicide and creation of a secure, confidential suicide register for Scotland.
