Renfrewshire Housing & Support Services

Housing Support is a service which supports individuals in their own homes within Renfrewshire to maintain their tenancy and to live as independently as possible within their own community.

The service aims to assist people in developing skills and abilities which will lead to an improved quality of life and which will also help people work towards their personal aspirations. The service is tailored to each person's individual needs.

Housing & Support covers a range of activities designed to help people to maintain their accommodation; to meet their responsibilities as a tenant and to become more involved in their local community.

Our staff provide support in areas such as:

  • Help in setting up a tenancy, (gas/electricity/telephone connection etc)
  • Help/advice on safety and security
  • Developing domestic/budgeting/life skills
  • General motivational and emotional support
  • Support in dealing with correspondence
  • Support in dealing with social/leisure activities
  • Support in making/keeping appointments
  • Support to access other services

Causeway Housing & Support Service

RAMH Causeway Housing Support Service provides practical tenancy support to people with a wide range of mental health issues across East Renfrewshire. We aim to enable people to maintain the upkeep of their homes and to enjoy the best possible quality of life in and around their homes

RAMH Causeway Housing Support Service provides practical tenancy support to people with a wide range of mental health issues. We aim to enable people to maintain the upkeep of their homes and to enjoy the best possible quality of life in and around their homes. We can support and assist people with a wide variety of tasks including:

  • Making sure their home is safe and secure.
  • Making appointments or phone calls and communication with services like housing, gas or electricity.
  • Money management, planning shopping and preparing food.
  • Getting to know and use local resources and meeting more people.
  • Advice - if we don't know we'll find out for you.

Causeway Housing also has a 24 hour housing and support service based in Thornliebank where staff are based on the premises and round-the-clock support with the tasks above can be provided.

Supported Living Services in South Ayrshire

Our Service Objectives

The overall aims of the Service are to:-

- provide housing support and personal care services to people with severe and enduring mental health problem, to enable them to live safely in the community and enjoy a satisfying lifestyle.

- deliver services in a way that makes sense to the individual and promotes their independence.

- deliver services in a manner that is safe and secure.

- support individuals to make plans which reflect their interests, hopes and aspirations for the future.

- help the service user build on existing skills and experiences to meet their identified needs.

- support the individual to access local & wider community facilities.

Who Can Get Support?

Individuals who have experience of severe and enduring mental health issues, requiring support to move from long stay in hospital into their own tenancy or support to manage and maintain the tenancy they are currently living in.

What do we provide?

A Supported Living Service that: -

- Supports individuals on a one to one basis to manage their tenancy and enhance wellbeing.

- offers support that suits the individual and is agreed upon.

- assists and advises on linking in with relevant agencies i.e. money advice, day opportunities

- supports individual to plan for and reach their goals and aspirations.

- helps to build lasting relationships within the community.

- information on local and wider opportunities, hobbies and interests.

- helps the individual to realize skills and talents.

- supports with access to learning and training & employment opportunities.
